SEMH Primary Teacher – Alternative Provision – Walsall
Are you a passionate and resilient teacher who enjoys breaking down barriers to education?
This fantastic alternative provision in Walsall is seeking an SEMH Primary Teacher to join their team and support pupils who have struggled to engage in mainstream settings. With a strong leadership team and exceptional support from Teaching Assistants, this is a hugely rewarding opportunity for a teacher who wants to make a difference.#

This SEMH Primary Teacher role requires QTS and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils who have complex needs, challenging behaviours, and gaps in learning. You will be teaching small classes of primary-aged pupils, with Teaching Assistants providing dedicated 1-2-1 support throughout the day.

Job Role:
  • Teaching a small class of primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs
  • Planning and delivering creative lessons that re-engage learners
  • Managing classroom behaviour using a consistent, nurturing approach
  • Working alongside experienced Teaching Assistants offering 1-2-1 support
  • Tracking progress and celebrating personal and academic achievements
  • Creating a safe, structured and trauma-informed classroom environment
You Will Need:
  • QTS and experience teaching in primary or SEMH settings
  • Strong classroom management and de-escalation skills
  • A passion for helping children rebuild confidence and re-engage with learning
  • Resilience, patience and excellent communication skills
