The Electrical Design Engineer will lead detailed electrical designs, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and ensure high-quality, compliant, and sustainable project delivery.

The Electrical Design Engineer will lead detailed electrical designs, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, mentor junior engineers, and ensure high-quality, compliant, and sustainable project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead detailed electrical design for building services systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire & life safety, and BMS systems
- Produce, review, and approve calculations, specifications, single-line diagrams, and CAD/Revit drawings
- Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integrated project delivery
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders at all project stages
- Provide mentoring, technical guidance, and support to junior engineers
- Ensure compliance with UK standards and regulations (BS 7671, CIBSE)
- Incorporate sustainable design practices and low-carbon technologies
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and quality assurance processes
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline
- Typically 5+ years’ experience in building services electrical design (consultancy or similar)
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)
- Proven expertise in electrical system design and knowledge of UK standards
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills
- Passion for sustainable engineering and innovative design solutions
- Chartered status (CEng, IEng) or working toward chartership is preferred
- Full UK right to work; sponsorship not available
